About Job
The CRC Art Therapist evaluates, prepares, and adapts art therapy treatments for children in a residential setting to enhance psychological, social, and physical well-being.
- Works with individuals and groups to facilitate self-expression, trauma resolution, and insight into emotional and behavioral struggles using creative art techniques.
- Assesses client needs, establishes therapy goals, and implements interventions aligned with treatment plans.
- Facilitates sessions, evaluates effectiveness, and adjusts approaches to meet evolving client needs.
- Documents progress, maintains records, and manages art supplies.
- Collaborates with team members, including trauma and cottage staff, to ensure continuity of care.
- Provides training to staff, conducts risk assessments, and participates in professional development.
- Maintains a supportive, Christ-centered attitude, demonstrating core values of commitment, selflessness, and kindness.
- Requires a master's degree, relevant licensure, and experience in art therapy, with proficiency in art techniques, documentation, and communication skills.
- Physical and safety requirements include ability to engage in outdoor activities, respond to crises, and perform physical interventions when necessary.
- Contributes to ongoing quality improvement efforts to create a safe and healing environment for clients and staff.
