Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Professional Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide therapeutic services to individuals, particularly focusing on children, adolescents and adults. This role requires a strong commitment to patient assessment, crisis intervention, and the ability to create a supportive environment for clients facing various challenges.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify mental health needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide counseling services to children and adults, focusing on issues such as behavior issues, depression, anxiety, grief, crisis intervention, and gender-related concerns.
- Utilize techniques such as CBT, DBT and motivational interviewing to support clients in their therapeutic journey.
- Work collaboratively with families and other professionals in the field of social work to ensure comprehensive care for clients with developmental disabilities.
- Collect and analyze data related to client progress and treatment effectiveness, adjusting approaches as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in counseling and mental health care.
Qualifications
- Valid license as a Professional Counselor (LPC) or equivalent certification in the state of Ohio.
- Experience working with children, adolescents and adults is preferred.
- Proficient in patient assessment techniques and crisis intervention strategies.
- Knowledge of therapeutic modalities related to mental health treatment.
- Strong skills in motivational interviewing and grief counseling methodologies.
- Familiarity with gender issues counseling is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Commitment to ethical practice and continuous learning within the field of mental health counseling.
