Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) – Contract Position

Location: La Verne, CA
Pay: $70–$75 per billable hour (based on experience)
Job Type: Contract (1099)

Cal Bear Consulting LLC is seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)to join our provider network as an independent contractor. This role is part of California’s Self-Determination Program (SDP) and involves supporting an adult with developmental disabilities, including autism, in La Verne, California.

This is a great opportunity for BCBAs looking for flexible, meaningful work with the autonomy to apply their clinical expertise in a community-based setting. Weekend availability is also possible, allowing for added flexibility.

Position Details:

  • Setting: In-person (home and community-based services)
  • Client: Adult with developmental disabilities
  • Service Hours:
  • 20 hours/month – BCBA consultation & supervision for support staff
  • 5 hours/month – Behavior management training for support staff
  • 5 hours/month – Behavior management training for family
  • Total: 30 billable hours/month
  • Compensation: $70–$75 per billable hour (based on experience)
  • Employment Type: Independent Contractor (1099)
  • Program: California Self-Determination Program (SDP)
  • Schedule: Flexible scheduling with potential for weekday and weekend hours

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs)
  • Develop individualized, ABA-based treatment plans focused on skill-building and behavior reduction
  • Create program materials such as visuals, task analyses, and data collection systems
  • Supervise and train direct support staff and family caregivers
  • Analyze data to monitor progress and adjust interventions as needed
  • Collaborate with family members, caregivers, and other professionals
  • Maintain accurate, HIPAA-compliant documentation (treatment plans, notes, data)

Requirements:

  • Active BCBA certification in good standing
  • Master’s degree in ABA, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field
  • At least 1 year of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities
  • Strong foundation in ABA principles and practical applications
  • Reliable transportation to provide in-person services in La Verne, CA
  • Must be able to pass federal and state background checks
  • Must obtain professional liability insurance (cost of first year is fully reimbursed)

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of California’s Self-Determination Program (SDP)
  • Experience training and supervising direct support staff and families
