The Cumberland School Department is hiring a committed and student-focused School Psychologist for the 2025-2026 academic year. This is a full-time, onsite position working directly with elementary and/or secondary students to support academic, emotional, and behavioral success.
Position Details:
- Location: Cumberland, RI
- Start Date: August 2025
- Work Schedule: Full-time, 2025-2026 school year
- Setting: Onsite only
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological assessments and interpret results in accordance with district, state, and federal regulations
- Develop individualized recommendations and interventions based on student needs
- Work collaboratively with educators and support teams to analyze data, monitor progress, and shape intervention strategies
- Participate actively in IEP and Evaluation Team meetings, ensuring documentation and compliance are maintained
- Maintain organized records and support referral tracking procedures
- Serve as a resource for crisis response planning and MTSS initiatives
- Consult with school staff and families to help design behavior and academic intervention plans
Requirements:
- Master's or Educational Specialist degree in School Psychology
- Rhode Island School Psychologist certification (or eligibility)
- Knowledge of special education law, MTSS, and data-driven intervention
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
