Location: On-site, Monday - Friday, 8:30 - 4:30pm EST

The Job:
As a Certified Peer Support Specialist at Live Benevolent, you will play a crucial role in providing support and guidance to individuals facing mental health challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Peer Support – Provide one-on-one and group support to individuals, fostering a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment.
- Guidance & Advocacy – Assist clients in understanding their rights and navigating systems to access essential resources, including housing, employment, and healthcare.
- Goal Setting – Collaborate with clients to establish personal recovery goals and develop actionable plans to support their progress.
- Crisis Intervention – Offer immediate support and intervention as needed, utilizing de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed practices to ensure client safety.
- Education – Share knowledge of mental health recovery processes, coping strategies, and self-advocacy techniques to empower clients in their journey.
- Documentation – Maintain accurate, confidential records of peer support sessions and client progress in compliance with state and organizational policies.
- Collaboration – Partner with mental health professionals and community organizations to coordinate client care and enhance support services.
- Community Engagement – Participate in outreach initiatives to increase awareness of mental health resources and promote available support services.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma/GED or higher.
- Certification as a Peer Support Specialist in the state of Maryland.
- Personal experience with mental health challenges and a demonstrated recovery journey.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong empathy and understanding of the recovery process.
- Completion of a state-recognized peer support training program.
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems and Microsoft Office Suite / Google Suite.
