The Cat Lounge Rescue and Adoption Center is a local non-profit dedicated to rescuing cats from euthanasia at high kill shelters, providing them with a safe haven where the public can socialize, rehabilitate, and adopt. We are a small team looking for help to make every day operations go smoothly!

The main goal of The Adoption and Guest Services Counselor is to make the adoption process as smooth as possible, especially focusing on minimizing concerns post-adoption. You are the go-to person to ensure our rescue cats are going to the proper home and that there are no issues once they get adopted!

Duties:

• Answering adoption inquiries via email
• Greeting guests and guiding them through adoption (or hang outs)
• Aiding in adoptions in the lounge (matching adopters with proper cats, reviewing adoption applications and agreements, checking out)
• Calling adopters post-adoption to address any concerns, logging comments and plans of action
• Being familiar with our adoption policies to properly handle adoptions and concerns
• Being familiar with common cat ailments to walk adopters through proper care (how to address URI’s, symptoms of Giardia, vaccine schedule, etc)
• Daily morning cleaning of the facility
• Administering medication to cats of all temperaments

This position has the option to be either part time and full time. The two potential schedules are:

11 am-7pm Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (40 hours)

OR

11 am - 7 pm Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (32 hours)

Requirements:

-MUST have working knowledge of cat behavior and cat medical care, including diagnostics and treatments. Please do not apply if your knowledge is only limited to having a pet cat.

-Able to maintain your composure but remain firm when dealing with difficult clients

-Able to show sympathy and address concerns when faced with difficult matters

-Medicate cats of all temperaments
