Job Overview
The Patient Care Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring that patients receive exceptional care and support throughout their dental experience with our office. This position involves managing patient interactions, coordinating appointments, and providing administrative support within the dental office setting. We are seeking an individual that preferably has experience in patient/customer service, billing, accounts receivable, insurance, and administrative support. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a compassionate approach to patient care, and be committed to growing within their role on our team!
Job Duties (Details)
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, addressing inquiries and concerns with professionalism and empathy.
- Schedule/reschedule patient appointments, ensuring efficient use of clinical time and resources. (Understanding scheduling parameters).
- Serve as the New Patient Coordinator - onboarding new patients from intake call to first appointment.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and insurance information, while adhering to confidentiality standards.
- Assist providers with administrative tasks such as preparing charts, managing correspondence, and processing referrals as needed.
- Treatment coordination: educate patients on procedures, recommended treatment, explain financial information related to procedures, and schedule accordingly.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care. (Our clinical team is great at communicating information to front desk!)
- Manage billing inquiries, run statements, audit accounts including overdue and credit reports, manage collection notices and small claims procedures, additional AR duties as needed.
Skills
- Proficiency in health office procedures and experience in a healthcare or dental setting is preferred.
- Experience in scheduling preferred.
- Ability to read patient ledgers/balances/insurance estimates preferred.
- Experience with Accounts Receivables preferred (account auditing, collection notices, small claims, etc.).
- Ability to work well in a team structure as well as independently.
- Familiarity with dental office operations is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Attention to detail in maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Comfortable using various software applications (MS Outlook, Word, etc.).
