Position: Family Resource and Intake Coordinator
Position Summary: We are looking for a motivated Family Resource and Intake Coordinator to help connect caring families with children who need them most. In this role, you’ll recruit, train, and guide foster and adoptive parents through the certification process, from initial interest to welcoming a child into their home. You’ll play a vital part in building strong, supportive placements by leading trainings, conducting home studies, facilitating matches, and collaborating with community partners. Minimum Education and/or Professional Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services related field(required)
- Demonstrated assessment skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of child welfare regulations and regulatory agencies.
- Teaching and presentation skills.

Full Job Description
Job Title: Family Resource and Intake Coordinator
Department: Therapeutic Foster Care
Title of Immediate Supervisor: Clinical Director - TFC
POSITION SUMMARY: The Family Resource and Intake Coordinator recruits, trains and processes intake for therapeutic foster and special needs adoptive parents and follows each applicant through certification process and placement of a child in their home.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
1. Develop and execute a foster/adoptive parent recruitment plan, and MEPA Plan per OCFS.
2. Develop and maintain relationships with media and other public relation resources.
3. Submit written information to and conduct information meetings with potential foster and adoptive parents.
4. Conduct pre-certification programs to potential foster/adoptive parents.
5. Facilitate other foster/adoptive parent training programs as requested.
6. Obtain data from state and community agencies as required for home certification.
7. Complete foster home studies.
8. Maintain case records prior to certification.
9. Complete and submit monthly statistics to program supervisor, ie. Intake Log and Dashboard quarterly
10. Enter all required data into Connections computer system.
11. Enter and submit all Adoption Album data into computer and submit to OCFS.
12. Represent agency on appropriate coalition, committees and at community recruitment events.
13. Send written acknowledgments to foster parents around life-cycle events and other appropriate times.
14. Perform any other requests deemed relevant to the position by supervisory and/or administrative staff.
15. Review intakes and recommend initial match to Program Supervisor and/or team members.
16. Arrange initial meetings with child and prospective family in consultation with Clinical Supervisor, Program Director and Social Worker.
17. Arrange and monitor pre-placement visits.
18. Complete all intake materials, insure they are signed.
19. Notify Social Worker and Youth Counselor of placement date for their participation.
20. Obtain training in Family Group Conference
21. Carry Family Group Conference cases as needed.
22. Present to various referral sources on Family Group Conference information.
23. Attend Family Group Conference team meetings as needed.
24. Support Family Group Conference facilitators when requested by supervisors.
25. Maintains small child Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Certification, First Aid/CPR Certification, and Community Safety Training as
provided by Agency.
26. Attends all mandatory in-service training and regularly attends supervision meetings.
27. All duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or Program Director.
