Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in social work, particularly in areas related to child welfare and behavioral health. This role involves working closely with children and families to provide support, guidance, and resources to enhance their well-being. The Social Worker will be responsible for addressing various challenges faced by clients, including crisis situations, educational needs, and cultural diversity issues.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments to identify the needs of children and families within the community.
- Provide crisis intervention services to individuals experiencing immediate distress or emergencies.
- Collaborate with child protective services to ensure the safety and welfare of children.
- Develop and implement individualized service plans tailored to the unique needs of each client.
- Offer counseling and support in areas such as behavioral health, special education, and childcare.
- Facilitate conflict management strategies among families and within educational settings.
- Advocate for clients’ rights and access to necessary resources within the community.
- Engage in teaching opportunities that promote awareness of social issues and available support systems.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions, progress, and case management activities.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in social work.
Experience
- Proven experience in social work or a related field, particularly with children and families.
- Familiarity with child welfare systems, crisis management techniques, and behavioral health services.
- Experience working with diverse populations and cultural diversity counseling is highly desirable.
- Strong conflict management skills and the ability to navigate challenging situations effectively.
