Job Overview
We’re looking for a caring and committed Substance Abuse Counselor to become part of our team. In this role, you’ll offer vital support and direction to individuals facing challenges with substance use. The right candidate will bring a strong grasp of addiction, proven counseling strategies, and the skill to create tailored treatment plans that foster healing and long-term wellness.

Duties

• Conduct assessments to evaluate clients’ needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide one-on-one counseling sessions utilizing techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing.
• Facilitate group therapy sessions focusing on behavioral therapy and crisis intervention strategies.
• Assist clients in developing coping strategies and life skills necessary for recovery.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and community resources to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
• Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions, treatment plans, and progress reports.
• Provide crisis management support to clients in need of immediate assistance.
• Other duties as assigned

Experience

• A degree in social work, psychology, or a related field is preferred but not required.
• Experience in substance abuse counseling or a related area is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with various therapeutic modalities including psychotherapy is beneficial.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in substance abuse treatment.

Pay: $39,000.00 - $47,000.00 per year
