The Business Workforce Engagement Specialist at Goodwill Southeast Georgia cultivates, grows, and actively maintains lasting partnerships with businesses throughout the region. This role is essential in understanding workforce needs, identifying industry skill and training requirements, and aligning Goodwill’s mission services to address those needs. With a focus on business development and employer engagement, this position builds strong, sustainable relationships while marketing the value of Goodwill’s programs and services to the community.

Your Typical Day:

Employer Engagement & Relationship Management
  • Source and identify new business relationships that serve as recurring referral leads
  • Maintain ongoing communication with employer partners to ensure satisfaction, troubleshoot issues, and identify candidates for available positions
  • Follow up on existing partnerships to ensure continued alignment and quality outcomes
  • Document and track all employer partnerships (new, expanded, and existing)
Program Development & Collaboration
  • Understand and articulate Goodwill’s value proposition and the benefits of employer partnership
  • Apply knowledge of participant skills, interests, and barriers to tailor outreach strategies
  • Collaborate with partners to strengthen and expand Goodwill programs and services
  • Coordinate with Career Navigators to plan and host hiring events
  • Create, develop, and maintain an Employer Advisory Council to align with local hiring needs
Community Engagement & Representation
  • Represent Goodwill at relevant events, forums, and community activities to promote programs and foster relationships
  • Participate as an informed partner to promote workforce solutions and share Goodwill’s mission
Data-Driven Outcomes
  • Use labor market and feedback data to refine services and increase effectiveness
  • Oversee relationship management processes and track employment outcomes
  • Collect and report metrics tied to program activity and mission outcomes
Other Responsibilities
  • General office environment; work is primarily sedentary with routine interaction across staff and employers
  • Requires regular regional travel; occasional evenings and weekends to meet employer and event needs
  • Perform other duties as assigned


What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services and at least three years’ experience in a similar role, OR an associate degree with a minimum of five years’ relevant experience
  • Valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with presentation experience
  • Ability to draft and present on business engagement programs, Goodwill’s mission, and programmatic outcomes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong problem-solving ability with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, across departments and stakeholders
  • Flexibility to adjust to changing assignments and schedules
  • Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism
  • Willingness to travel throughout the regional territory
