Location: Jamaica Hospital Nursing Home – Jamaica, NY
Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Salary: $27.57 – $33.39/hr.

Jamaica Hospital Nursing Home, a CMS five-star rated facility and ranked in the 1st Quintile for Quality, is seeking a motivated Recreation Therapist to join our dynamic team. We are a not-for-profit, short-term rehabilitation and long-term care facility located on the campus of Jamaica Hospital Medical Center.

What You’ll Do:

• Plan, organize, facilitate, and promote therapeutic recreation and treatment programs.
• Assess and respond to the physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs of sub-acute/rehab patients.
• Create unique and engaging programs that enhance resident well-being.
• Safely transport residents to and from recreation areas.
• Manage time effectively while collaborating with healthcare providers.

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Therapeutic Recreation or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years of therapeutic recreation experience preferred.
• Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) certification is a plus.
• Experience with medical chart documentation (assessments, care planning, MDS, progress notes, Sigmacare) a strong advantage.
• Minimum of one year recent experience working with frail, medically fragile, or elderly populations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; team-oriented mindset.
