Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counselor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to individuals facing social, emotional and behavioral challenges. You will work collaboratively with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective care plans that promote recovery and well-being. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in a behavioral health fields; such as counseling, psychology, social work, or related fields, with a passion for helping others.
Duties
- Conduct assessments to determine client needs and develop individualized care plans.
- Conduct individual and group counseling
- Provide ongoing case management services, including monitoring client progress and adjusting care plans as necessary.
- Facilitate communication between clients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care.
- Assist clients with accessing community resources and support services.
- Support clients in navigating the healthcare system, including discharge planning from inpatient settings.
- Utilize evidence-based practices in mental health counseling
- Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and treatment progress in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Stay informed about current trends in mental health treatment and utilize supervision effectively.
Experience
- A degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in behavioral health settings is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with utilization management processes and discharge planning is a plus.
- Previous experience working with school age populations or within a school setting is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds are essential.
- Knowledge of mental health counseling techniques and addiction counseling practices will enhance your effectiveness in this role.
