Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated RBT/ Behavior Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate is currently certified as an Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or willing to become certified within 30 days of hire and will have experience working with individuals with autism and developmental disabilities. As a Behavior Technician, you will play a crucial role in implementing behavior plans and providing training and support to clients and their families. You will work in the home with the family to train and reinforce positive / appropriate behaviors, while working to extinguish the challenging behaviors.
FULL-TIME POSITIONs in multiple towns--MCKINNEY, PRINCETON, GREENVILLE and MORE to work with children and teens with intellectual disabilities and autism.
Pay starts at $17 for BT and $20 for RBT. RBTs with experience will be compensated based on the level of RBT they are hired into. RBT I, II, and III positions are available to offer a career ladder with continued growth income.
Duties:
- Work directly with individuals with autism and/ or developmental disabilities and/ or speech delays
- Implement behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
- Conduct data collection and assist in analyzing behavioral data
- Assist in developing and implementing care plans
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient care records
- Provide support in activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality
-Ability to communicate calmly during stressful situations is a plus
-Ability to reduce restraint use is a plus
*This position requires direct physical intervention in aggressive and self-injurious behaviors when all lesser restrictive interventions have been tried and failed. Experience reducing restraint usage and/ or using verbal intervention techniques preferred. The ability to make sound judgment calls in stressful situations is essential . The ability to run and get up and down off the floor are important when working with active children.
Experience:
- Prior experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to behavioral health
- Ability to document behavioral data and communicate issues or needed adjustments to the BCBA in a timely manner
- Familiarity with care plans and medical documentation
- Understanding of patient care principles and practices
-Ability to model and train appropriate interactions and behaviors with all members of the household and interdisciplinary team.
-Ability to self-monitor and control impulsive behavior/ Ability to stay calm when others are highly agitated
