*This current position is part - time and requires that the candidate have the availability to work at least 15 hours per week between the hours of 4:00 - 7:00 pm (Monday - Friday).

  • Previous work experience with children is required
  • All technicians must have completed the Registered Behavior Technician 40 hour training prior to starting with our company. Within the first 30 days of start of employment, we place a high priority on supporting our employees to become certified as a Registered Behavior Technician. We will support you in completing your competency assessment and will cover your RBT exam and application fee , if hired.

If so, SenseSational Learning Group has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Registered Behavior Technician.

As a Registered Behavior Technician, you will be responsible for providing play-based instruction, teaching developmentally appropriate skills, and taking a holistic approach to supporting children/teens and their families. Your role will involve actively engaging with toddlers through teenaged students in a variety of settings, fostering a nurturing and supportive environment where every child can thrive. Ideal candidates will have experience working with neurodivergent children, including children with Autism and ADHD, and possess a deep understanding of child and human development. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing essential support to neurodivergent children by focusing on communication, play, and social skills development. Your work will be instrumental in helping these children build the skills they need to navigate the world around them with confidence and success.

Duties:

  • Provide 1:1 or small group direct intervention for children and/or teens in a private school, home, or community setting based on developmentally appropriate, naturalistic ABA therapy
  • Follow the skill development and behavior support plans developed by master’s and doctoral level Behavior Analyst clinicians
  • Collect accurate frequency, duration, and anecdotal data in the moment to be analyzed by the BCBA
  • Support the development of social skills of children and teens through modeling, prompting, and fading of prompts as they are independent in classroom routines and daily schedules
  • Use positive reinforcement techniques to promote desired behaviors
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe environment for clients
  • Collaborate with each client’s team of Behavior Analysts, Speech and Language Pathologists, and Occupational Therapists to provide high-quality support for your clients
  • Work closely with your team to provide continuity of communication and the highest quality of care and support
  • Actively engage in ongoing training and professional development opportunities
  • Build meaningful and professional relationships with families; communicate and share progress with them on a regular basis
  • Receive ongoing feedback, coaching and professional development from your BCBA to improve and grow your practice and skills

Qualifications:

Minimum education expectation: enrollment or intention of enrollment in college degree or certificate programs related to Child Development, Psychology, Education, Speech & Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, or a related field

*Additional pay for Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs). We can help you complete the competency assessment and schedule your exam.

Preferred candidates have started or completed coursework towards a degree in Child Development, Psychology, Education, Speech & Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, or a related field

Previous experience with children and/or teens, preferably in a professional setting

Previous experience with the neurodiverse population (e.g. autism, ADHD)

Playful and genuine spirit and the ability to connect and engage with young children, teens, and their families

Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies

Familiarity with medical terminology related to behavioral health

Ability to work independently and as part of a team to work toward a shared mission and vision

Clear professional communication, both verbally and in writing

Fluency in navigating devices such as computers and tablets

Have reliable transportation and the ability to arrive at the community site and/or client’s home on-time daily

Meet the following physical requirements: sit and stand frequently and shift positions quickly, lift up to 50 lbs., sit/kneel on the floor, sit in a chair, stand, and walk

Availability to work between the hours of 3:00 - 7:30 pm (Monday - Friday)

Additional Skills:

- Teaching through play based activities

- Experience with assisting individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Understanding of special education principles and practices
- Familiarity with care plans and individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Knowledge of behavioral health interventions and strategies
