Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Residential Aide to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to residents and residential aids in a men's shelter, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Your responsibilities will include assisting with daily activities, promoting resident rights, room inspections, ensuring residential aids are carrying out their daily task and delivering high-quality care to individuals with diverse needs, including those with physical, mental or unseen disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, cleaning their sleeping areas and grooming.
- Support the cook with ensuring the common areas are stock with foods, snacks and refreshments, leading up t dinner service
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance residents' quality of life.
- Ensure the environment is clean, safe, and conducive to resident comfort.
- Uphold resident rights and dignity while providing direct support.
- Engage residents in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
- Assist with medication reminders as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a supportive community for residents.
Requirements
- Experience with non-profit organizations, homelessness
- Knowledge of resident rights and commitment to advocating for them.
- Previous experience in a shelter settings is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by state regulations.
