Responsibilities1. Provide clerical, reception and telephone support2. Manage faculty practice appointments, schedule patients for providers, check in and check out3. Collect patient demographics and insurance information and enter into Epic system4. Verify patients insurance coverage prior to patients appointment and advise patient of any insurance referrals needed5. Acquire insurance authorizations if required6. Prepare and collect completed new patient forms, scan all documents and upload to EMR7. Collect patient copayments/coinsurance/deductible/account balance, post in the system, and prepare TOS deposits for Sinai Central8. May initiate reminder calls for next day appointments9. May act as liaison with other administrative staff to address patient concerns or other coverage and billing issues10. Review all visit related information in the system for charge accuracy11. Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Associate Degree or High School Diploma/GED
- Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare and commercial insurance billing and ICD/CPT codes for psychiatry services preferred.
- 2-4 years administrative experience in health care practice environment
- Experience in appointment scheduling, insurance verification, patient check in/out, registration, work queue, collecting copays, obtaining authorizations.
