After School Counselor

Do you love working with K-5th graders? IC3 After School is now hiring an after school counselor. IC3 After School enrolls children in Kindergarten-5th grade and offers them a place to relax and unwind after a structured day of school. A combination of hands on activities, board games, arts and crafts, physical games, and homework time are offered. Must enjoy working with school age children 5-11 years old. Experience with children in a recreational or educational setting preferred. If interested, counselors are also encouraged to incorporate their own skills, hobbies, or interests into the program through enrichment activities. Work Monday-Friday, part time hours, 1:45 - 5:45 pm. $17.25 - $18.25/hr depending on education. 12 sick days, 5 vacation days, paid winter break (5-8 days) and paid holidays when the Center is closed. Opportunities for full time employment are available during school vacations and the summer months.

Responsibilities & Skills:

• Assist the program leader with designing and implementing an age appropriate classroom/learning environment
• Be able to establish and maintain a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment
• Abide by OCFS regulations
• Be responsible, reliable, and dependable
• Have clear, direct communication style (written and verbal)
• Have team-oriented problem solving skills
