Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated ART Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and individuals with developmental disabilities, providing therapeutic support in various settings. This role involves art therapy, as well as addressing behavioral health needs. The Therapist will work closely with clients to develop personalized treatment plans that promote emotional and psychological well-being.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments to evaluate clients' needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide therapeutic interventions using techniques such as art therapy.
- Work with children and individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring a supportive environment that fosters growth.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care for clients in outpatient settings, hospice care, and dementia care.
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote emotional expression and coping skills.
Qualifications
- Masters in Psychology, Social Work or Mental Health
- License Intern or full license in Social Work or Mental Health.
- Experience working with children and individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of art therapy techniques is a plus.
- Familiarity with behavioral health practices and approaches.
- Understanding of dementia care principles is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients of diverse backgrounds.
- Proficient in medical documentation practices, adhering to HIPAA standards.
- A relevant degree in therapy or counseling is required; licensure or certification may be necessary depending on the specific role.
