The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description Are you ready to start your Social Work career with New York State? Capital District Psychiatric Center is recruiting for Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) for their adult secure care psychiatric unit.Licensed Social Workers will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide compassionate care and individualized support services to adults in a secure inpatient setting. Duties including: • Providing individual psychotherapy to adults.• Facilitating up to 4 weekly clinical group programs.• Developing clinical group curriculum to meet Joint Commission and Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services programming requirements.• Completing required paperwork including intake, core history, treatment plans, and progress notes. • Providing case management services.• Coordinating and facilitating discharge planning with Social Work Team.• Providing verbal de-escalation and participating in interventions.• Assisting in training and orientation of new staff and/or interns.

The minimum qualifications required for this vacancy. Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (NY HELPS) program if they are licensed and currently registered by New York State as a Licensed Master Social Worker.OR Candidates within State Service can be considered transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
