Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated bilingual (Spanish/English) Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW) to join our team in a school-based therapy and family approach model. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental health counseling, particularly in working with children and families. This role involves providing support through various therapeutic methods, conducting assessments, and developing treatment plans aimed at enhancing the well-being of students and their families.
Duties
- Conduct individual and/or group counseling sessions, utilizing techniques such as grief counseling, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and play therapy.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments to identify needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Provide crisis intervention and management for clients experiencing acute distress or emergencies.
- Engage in motivational interviewing to empower clients in their personal growth and recovery.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including educators and school staff, to coordinate care for clients, ensuring a holistic approach to treatment.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, including intake forms, progress notes, and treatment plans in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Facilitate behavioral therapy sessions for children and adults, focusing on skill development and coping strategies.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives to enhance service delivery and outcomes within the community.
- Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) systems for data collection and management of client information.
- Provide culturally responsive care, utilizing bilingual skills to engage clients and families in their preferred language and ensure clear communication.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Work or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Valid licensure as an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW).
- Bilingual in Spanish and English, with the ability to conduct therapy and communicate effectively in both languages.
- Experience working with children and families in school-based settings or community organizations is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience in crisis intervention techniques and case management practices is required.
