Afterschool Program Counselor
Our primary focus is to provide a safe, fun, and engaging after-school program for the children of the community. We are seeking positive role models with a high level of energy and a great attitude. Previous experience with children is preferred, but by no means required. Great for those seeking experience in youth care and development careers.
Requirements:
- Assistant Counselors: 16-17 years of age($8-$10/hr)
- Counselors: 18+ years of age($10-$12/hr)
Duties:
- Provide leadership by leading a small group of children, facilitating group activities, and maintaining and following the program's schedule.
- Work with participants to provide a fulfilling camp experience.
- Communicate participant needs to appropriate and develop charter development.
- Initiate and develop open communication with the children.
- Assist in the development of weekly programs, activities, and schedules.
- Communicate with supervisors and other staff through weekly meetings.
- Serve as a positive role mode and ensure the safety of all children.
- Attend all training sessions.
- Maintain safety and cleanliness standards as assigned by the Childcare Director.
- Remain onsite during your scheduled shift and expected meeting times. If emergencies arise, be sure to inform the Lead Counselor, Site Supervisor, After School/Summer Camp Coordinator and Child Care Director.
- Facilitate program activities that are appropriate and develop character development.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Part-time, Up to 28 hours per week based on availability.
Salary: From $8.00-$12.00/hour for Counselors with room for raises and promotion. Assistant Counselors start at $8/hr.
