Under administrative supervision, the Social Workers role is to serve as a resource providing intervening services to strengthen district/community partnerships and address barriers to student learning within a full range of comprehensive support. Reference the job description linked below for additional information.Position Details: Full-time position (5 days a week); 185 days (following school calendar)Salary: $57,986 (based on 185-day contract)Key Responsibilities: Identify students at risk and implement interventions to improve academic and social functioning.Preparing a social or developmental history on a child with a disability.Counseling (group, individual, and/or family).Provide counseling services to special education students as indicated by the Individualized Educational Planning Meetings.Providing consultation regarding school law and school policy, including IDEA and Section 504.Developing intervention strategies to increase academic success.Through counseling,assisting with conflict resolution and anger management;helping children develop appropriate social interaction skills; andassisting children in understanding and accepting self and others.Assessing students with mental health concerns.Referring students to additional services, as needed.Helping school districts receive adequate support from social and mental health agencies.Advocating for new and improved community/school services to meet the needs of students and families.Helping the school system respond effectively to each students needs.Providing crisis intervention.Identifying and reporting child abuse and neglect.Providing staff with essential information to better understand factors (cultural, societal, economic, familial, health, etc.) affecting a students performance and behavior.Assisting teachers with behavior management.Providing direct support to staff.Developing staff in-service training programs, as needed.Qualifications: Master's degree or higher in social work, psychology, or a related field from an accredited college or university.Possess a valid Licensed Social Worker or Licensed Independent Social Worker license issued by the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, or Marriage and Family Therapist Board.Ability to obtain Ohio Pupil Services Social Worker Registration or equivalent licenseMinimum three years of experience in a school setting preferred.Technology skills, including basic computer skills and the ability to work with the Google Workspace tools and Microsoft Suite tools.Communication and problem-solving skills as it relates to working with students, staff, and parents.Strong organizational skillsAbility to maintain a level of confidentiality regarding student information and records.Must pass a criminal background check.Possess and maintain a valid drivers license and reliable transportation.Knowledge of: Southern Ohio Educational Service Center policies and regulations; district contact persons and staff; integrated model of service delivery in schools; appropriate social work practices; State and Federal Rules and Regulations.Ability to: Interpret policies, procedures, and regulations; follow instructions; maintain files and records; collect data; prepare required reports; demonstrate a positive relationship with staff; promote a favorable image in the best interests of the Southern Ohio Educational Service Center; possess physical and emotional ability and dexterity to work in a fast-paced, highly intensive work environment reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functionsApplication Deadline: Until FilledAnticipated Start Date: August 2025Interested applicants should send a letter of interest, resume, three professional references, and a copy of any credentials to: Casey Enochs, Assistant SuperintendentSouthern Ohio Educational Service Center3321 Airborne Road, Wilmington, Ohio 45177Email: cenochs@soesc.orgPhone: 937-382-6921, ext. 1039Southern Ohio Educational Service Center provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression of any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
