Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, creative, and reliable Board-Certified Music Therapist to join our team on a part-time basis. This role will primarily focus on providing individual music therapy sessions in the Durham/Chapel Hill area, with the potential to lead group sessions in the future. The position will also include opportunities to teach private music lessons and group music classes as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized music therapy services based on client goals and needs
  • Plan and document sessions in alignment with professional and ethical standards
  • Communicate with clients, caregivers, and other team members to ensure quality care
  • Teach private music lessons and/or group classes when assigned
  • Travel to client homes, community locations, and our studio as needed
  • Maintain professional boundaries and uphold Good Grooves Music’s mission and values

Compensation & Benefits

  • $23–$25/hour (based on experience) for direct care, planning, documentation, and travel time between clients

Requirements

  • Board Certification in Music Therapy (MT-BC)
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with insurance coverage
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently
  • Comfort in adapting to a variety of client needs, settings, and music genres
  • Experience with or interest in teaching private music lessons
