About the Position:

Norwood-Fontbonne Academy is seeking a compassionate, skilled Temporary School Counselor to join our student support team during a maternity leave coverage from January 2026 through April 2026. This is a full-time position providing social-emotional, academic, and personal support to students in grades Preschool through 8th grade.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a school setting, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive school environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide short-term counseling support to students individually and in small groups.
• Assist with conflict resolution, peer mediation, and crisis intervention as needed.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student well-being and success.
• Maintain appropriate documentation of counseling sessions and interventions.
• Support implementation of school-wide social-emotional learning and wellness initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• School counseling certification or relevant counseling experience in an educational setting.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Schedule & Pay:

• Full-time, Monday–Friday, school hours.
• Compensation: $25/hour.
