Part-Time Therapist – Mental Health Primary IOP

Location: Bellaire, TX
Reports to: Clinical Director
Employment Type: Part-Time (with potential to transition to full-time as the program grows)

Position Summary

The Part-Time Therapist will provide individual and group therapy services for clients enrolled in Altura Recovery’s Mental Health Primary Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and other related outpatient services. This role ensures clients receive compassionate, evidence-based care that supports emotional stability, personal growth, and successful discharge planning. The therapist collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality clinical care, maintain compliance with documentation standards, and contribute to program development.

Key Responsibilities

Therapeutic Services

• Provide individual therapy sessions for assigned clients, focusing on treatment goals and progress.
• Facilitate psychoeducational and process-oriented group therapy sessions for the IOP program.
• Support clients in developing coping strategies, emotional regulation skills, and relapse prevention plans (if applicable).

Collaboration & Case Management

• Participate in weekly clinical team meetings to review cases, update treatment plans, and coordinate care.
• Communicate effectively with the Clinical Director, case managers, and other program staff regarding client progress and needs.
• Collaborate on aftercare and discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.

Documentation & Compliance

• Complete clinical documentation (assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, discharge summaries) within required timelines.
• Maintain compliance with state, federal, and Altura Recovery policies and ethical standards.

Program Support

• Provide coverage for other therapy groups or sessions as needed.
• Contribute to the development of program curriculum and therapeutic resources.
• Assist in crisis intervention when necessary.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related mental health field.
• Active Texas license in good standing (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience (IOP/PHP or outpatient mental health setting preferred).
• Experience with CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, and/or group facilitation.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
