Psych/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Summary
Full-Time | Monday-Friday | No nights, weekends, or holidays!
The Psych/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (NP) functions under the clinical supervision of licensed physicians, providing diagnostic and therapeutic health care to patients in Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides psychiatric care to various and/or specific patient levels- adults/geriatric.
- Performs comprehensive evaluations.
- Assesses and diagnose patients suffering from mental illness disorders and/or dementia.
- Establishes and document reasonable medical diagnoses.
- Orders pertinent diagnostic laboratory and radiology testing for the medical diagnosis or presenting symptom.
- Accepts feedback and direction from the supervising physician.
- Creates and implements a medical plan of care.
- Performs diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures within his/her level of training and expertise.
- Participates in clinical meetings.
- Prescribes medications as appropriate.
- Performs timely documentation and billing.
Requirements
- Valid Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Certification
- Valid DEA.
- BLS certified.
- Strong diagnostic and clinical skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Effectively collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.

- 1 year or more experience in Geriatrics.
- 1 year or more experience in Internal Medicine.
Work Setting: Onsite daily.
