Job Title: Victim Advocate

Be a part of an innovative advocacy team! This Victim Advocate Position is focused on providing advocacy and survivor support services to adult and adolescent victims of sex trafficking as well as children, adolescents and families identified in internet / electronics related crimes against children investigations. This position will be a part of a unique survivor support and intervention program with intensive focus on high-risk teens, young adults and families as part of Crisis Aid’s Children’s Anti-Exploitation(CAP) program . This position requires a self-motivated person with excellent communication skills who thrives in a varied and independent work environment.

This Victim Advocate position functions include but are not limited to:

  • Providing advocacy and support services to children, adolescents and families identified in internet / electronics related crimes against children investigations in a law enforcement/multiple settings in the Grand Rapids area
  • Provide advocacy and support to human trafficking victims in a residential and field environments
  • Appropriate documentation and data collection
  • Support and participate in Crisis Aid International fundraising and community awareness efforts
  • Representing Crisis Aid International at related community / victim service meetings and events
  • Provide community trainings / education upon request
  • Participate in Crisis Aid International activities, meetings and trainings as requested

Required Qualifications: BA or BS in social services, criminal justice or related field with 3 to 5 years professional experience or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of professional experience working with related populations (survivors of child sexual abuse, victims of sexual exploitation, homeless populations, and/or individuals struggling with substance abuse issues, youth with intellectual disabilities or at risk youth) required.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with public speaking as well as experience/ training or education in trauma informed care strongly preferred. Strong social media skills a plus. Bilingual in English/Spanish not required but also a plus. Periodic travel out of state for training will be required.

Position Type: Full Time

Reports to: Director of U.S. Safe

Salary: $50,000.00 to $52,000.00 with a flexible work schedule, generous benefits, vacation and holidays.
