Job Title: Mental Health Counselor – Psychiatric
Location: Lawrence, MA 01840
Duration: 13 Weeks (09/02/2025 – 11/29/2025)
Schedule: 36 hours/week

• Three 8-hour shifts: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday (3 PM – 11 PM)
• One 12-hour shift: Saturday (7 PM – 7 AM)

Schedule may be adjusted as needed.

Pay & Compensation:

Local pay rate: $41 to $45 per hour
Travel pay rate: $1980 to $2012 weekly gross
Completion bonus: $200
Extension bonus: $200

Position Summary:
The Mental Health Counselor (MHC) will triage calls, prioritize the use of clinicians and resources, and serve as a liaison with related systems. Responsibilities include answering phones, providing initial assessments, monitoring active and pending cases, assisting with bed searches, insurance verifications/authorizations, and sharing resource/system knowledge. The MHC ensures quality care, records data, accesses administrative on-call as needed, and provides feedback to the program director regarding shift performance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field required
• BLS-AHA and CPI training - Required
• Strong listening, communication, and writing skills
• Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from regulatory agencies and service providers
• Problem-solving skills: define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Physical ability to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and lift up to 20 lbs.

• Mixed shift schedule (8-hour and 12-hour shifts)
