Position Overview

The Alliance for Aging, a non-profit agency, provides information and access to social services for older adults and their families to help keep them at home and in their communities. Immediate full-time opportunity available for a Lead ADI (Alzheimer’s Disease Initiative) Contract Manager position for an experienced professional in the area of compliance and quality assurance.

Reporting directly to the Program Integrity & Accountability Director and working under general supervision, the incumbent is responsible for assisting in the selection and administration of contracts and in the evaluation of contract compliance and quality of Alzheimer’s Disease Initiative (ADI) program/services offered by agencies under contract with the Alliance for Aging.

Responsibilities

  • Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills and should have experience with compliance and quality assurance of social services programs. Candidates must be willing to travel throughout Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties.
  • The individual will be responsible for monitoring contract compliance of agencies receiving state and federal funds for social services for the elderly through the Alliance. Responsibilities include:
  • Provider monitoring including reviewing policies and procedures, client satisfaction interviews, service sampling, outcome measures, and program spending.
  • Preparing various reports that include contract performance, recommendations for improvement, and identification of non-compliance issues.
  • Administer the R.E.L.I.E.F. program, which provides volunteer-based respite services designed to support family caregivers of frail homebound elders age 60+ and those with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.
  • Develop and maintain effective partnerships with organizations and providers who have dementia expertise, for example, Alzheimer’s Association, Easter Seals, Memory Disorder Clinics.
  • Support and be an active member of the Dementia Care and Cure Initiative (DCCI) Taskforce, as well as encourage Alliance funded providers to participate, in order to increase dementia awareness.
  • Assist the Memory Disorder Clinics in carrying out Silver Alert Protocols to include the return of the Silver Alert Services Referral Form from the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) to the referring Memory Disorder Clinic within fourteen (14) days of receipt.
  • Collaborate with memory disorder clinics to provide a minimum of 4 hours in-service training related to Alzheimer’s disease annually for Alliance funded respite and adulty day care providers.
  • Coordinate with Memory Disorder Clinics and Alliance funded ADI respite providers in the development of training materials for caregivers, caregiver groups, and organizations in the community on Alzheimer’s or related memory disorder information and resources.
  • Collaborate with Memory Disorder Clinics and the respite and adult day care providers in the development of training to meet staff needs.
  • Partner with other community organizations that serve caregivers (e.g., Alzheimer’s Association, Easter Seals, Memory Disorder Clinics) to better understand the needs of local caregivers, as well as their preferences for services and service delivery models.
  • Providing ongoing technical assistance and training related to social services and program administration.
  • Maintaining constant open lines of communication with social service providers and providing guidance, as needed.
  • Conducting presentations and trainings for contracted social service providers on required program policies.
  • Maintaining knowledge and understanding of current policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Services or related field, plus a minimum of three years experience in aging services with governmental and/or non-profit experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in working with Alzheimer’s Disease Initiative programs and Memory Disorder Clinics strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with social services, particularly the aging service network, to include programs associated to Alzheimer’s or related memory disorders.
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written skills, with strong emphasis in English grammar and spelling.
  • Strong initiative and follow-through on responsibilities.
  • Ability to multi-task is essential which may result in significant amounts of mental stress on a daily basis.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Flexibility and creativity in response to growth and change within the organization.
  • Demonstrated PC ability to include Microsoft Office products, especially Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Additionally, must be Internet proficient.
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish or English/Creole) preferred but not required.
