About the Role:
We are seeking a Licensed Psychologist with a doctoral degree (PhD, PsyD, or EdD) to perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) psychological examinations for U.S. military veterans. This is an evaluation-only role, focused on conducting thorough, objective mental health assessments to support veterans’ disability claims.
You will conduct psychological evaluations, complete VA Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs), and provide clear medical opinions in compliance with VA requirements. No ongoing therapy or treatment is provided in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations in-person, following VA protocols and DBQ standards.
- Review relevant veteran medical records, lay statements, and other documentation prior to each exam.
- Administer clinical interviews and mental status exams to assess psychiatric symptoms and functional impairments.
- Complete DBQs and medical opinions accurately, objectively, and timely.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and VA regulations.
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with veteran patients.
Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree in psychology (PhD, PsyD, or EdD) from an accredited program.
- Active, unrestricted license to practice psychology in Texas.
- Minimum 2 years post-licensure clinical experience; VA or disability evaluation experience preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and excellent documentation abilities.
- Knowledge of VA disability evaluation procedures and DBQ completion preferred (training available).
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Per diem, PRN
Pay: $100.00 - $120.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 32 per week
