About Job

Riverside Recovery Resources (RRR) is looking for a part-time Certified Substance Use Counselor to provide services in our outpatient program, with a focus on our STOP program (Specialized Treatment for Optimized Programming), which provides services to the criminal justice population. RRR is subcontracted through reentry services for the CDCR (California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation) to provide Substance Use, Anger Management, Domestic Violence, and Life Skills services to parolees reentering the community.

Experience with the criminal justice and reentry population is preferred. The Counselor will be involved with group and individual counseling sessions, as well as documentation and charting. The EMR system utilized is ARMS. Experience in ARMS is preferred, but not required; we will train.

The estimated number of hours for this position is 20-30 hours per week.

Duties and responsibilities shall include but not be limited to:

  • Conduct initial interviews/assessments of participants assigned to the program
  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions for Substance Use. STOP participants also may receive Anger Management, Domestic Violence, and Life Skills sessions.
  • Evaluate the progress of each participant through one- on-one counseling sessions.
  • Work directly with participants to develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Document all notes and charting requirements in the EMR system.
  • Complete documentation thoroughly and within required timeframes.
  • Notify the Program Director and reentry staff of any problems/issues involving any program/services or participants.
  • Participate in case conferences for each participant assigned to the caseload.

Qualifications:

  • SUD Certification (CADTP, CCAPP, CAADE), or higher level of credential
  • Live Scan clearance through CDCR will be required
  • CPR/First Aid certification
  • TB test clearance
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Minimum 3 years of SUD Counseling
  • Anger Management Certification preferred, but not required
  • Domestic Violence (Batterer’s Intervention) Certification preferred, but not required
  • Experience working with the criminal justice and reentry population preferred
  • Proficient computer skills including Outlook and Zoom
  • Computer experience in EMR systems (ARMS) preferred, but not required
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Strong time management, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work with the criminal justice population
  • Ability to follow strict confidentiality guidelines, including knowledge of HIPAA laws
  • Knowledge of applicable ethical and professional standards of conduct

Pay rate will depend upon qualifications.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
