VICTIM ADVOCATE

Victim Assistance Programs - Homicide Victim Services - DA's Office - Santa Ana - F/T. Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, Variable Schedule. Hybrid work schedule available.

Responsibilities Include

  • Responsible for the provision of assistance to families of homicide crime victims as required to mitigate the impact of the victimization, case investigation, and trial proceedings.
  • Provide crisis intervention, short-term counseling, referrals, and court accompaniment services.
  • Work in partnership with the District Attorney's office, law enforcement, and other victim service providers.

Requirements Include

  • Bachelors Degree in behavioral science, criminal justice, or related field.
  • Basic knowledge of the criminal justice system, family dynamics, sociological aspects of homicide, and victimology.
  • One to three years of related experience working with people in victim services or criminal justice system setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to the cultural/ethnic diversity of the service population and to the needs of special populations.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required

Pay range: $23.52 hourly
