We're looking for someone in our Oakland, El Cerrito and Hawyard locations who understands that how you greet someone, how you help them through a tough moment, and how you say goodbye can shape their entire visit.

  • You're calm when things get busy. When the phones are ringing and patients are checking in, you keep things running smoothly.
  • You're kind, even on the tough days. A warm smile and a genuine tone go a long way — and you know how much it matters.

A Day in the Role

  • Welcome patients and help them feel at home
  • Coordinate the schedule and manage appointments

Your Background

Experience in a dental or medical office is a plus — but it's not everything. What really matters is your character. If you've worked in retail, hospitality, customer service — and you know how to take care of people — you'll do just fine.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday and some Saturday rotations may be required

Work Location: In person

  • Greet patients warmly and assist them with the check-in process.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring efficient use of time slots.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and manage electronic health information systems.
  • Communicate effectively with patients regarding their treatment plans and follow-up care.
  • Coordinate with medical staff to ensure timely delivery of services and address any patient concerns.
  • Process insurance claims and verify patient insurance coverage as needed.
  • Educate patients on office policies, procedures, and available services.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence.

Skills

  • Experience in a medical or dental office setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology to facilitate effective communication.
  • Proficiency in medical administrative support functions, including scheduling and record management.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to maintain accurate patient information.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to provide compassionate care and support to patients.
  • Proficient in using office software applications and electronic health record systems.
