Job description:

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the mental health and emotional well-being of students, providing psychological assessments, and developing intervention strategies to enhance student learning and development. This role requires a strong commitment to fostering a positive school environment and collaborating with educators, parents, and other professionals to address the diverse needs of students.

Duties

  • Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations to identify students' needs and develop appropriate intervention plans.
  • Provide individual and group counseling services to students experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to implement early intervention strategies for at-risk students.
  • Engage in crisis management and provide support during critical incidents affecting the school community.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive medical records for students receiving psychological services.
  • Offer guidance on working with students with developmental disabilities, ensuring they receive the necessary support for their educational success.
  • Facilitate child family counseling sessions to strengthen family dynamics and improve student outcomes.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and coordinate services.

Experience

  • Proven experience working with students in an educational setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with psychological testing methods and tools is essential.
  • Background in social work or related fields is a plus.
  • Experience in crisis management, early intervention strategies, and individual/group counseling is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations are required.

Credential:

  • Active California State PPS credential as a School Psychologist required.
