Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with children and individuals with developmental disabilities, utilizing behavioral therapy techniques to support their growth and development. This role involves implementing treatment plans, collecting data on patient progress, and collaborating with other professionals to ensure the highest quality of care.

Duties

  • Implement individualized treatment plans based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles.
  • Work directly with children and individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities to promote positive behavior changes.
  • Collect and analyze data on patient behavior and progress, ensuring accurate documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist in patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations to identify specific needs.
  • Maintain medical records and documentation, including intake forms and behavioral health assessments.
  • Collaborate with special education professionals, families, and other caregivers to create a supportive environment for patients.
  • Provide patient care while ensuring a safe and nurturing atmosphere.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills in behavioral therapy.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
  • Knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques, particularly Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, medical documentation, and record-keeping practices.
  • Strong skills in data collection and analysis related to patient progress.
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members.
  • A background in special education or related fields is a plus.
