Start Date: September 9, 2025 Job DescriptionSummary:
We are actively seeking a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) for a 13-week contract in the Emergency Room Case Management Unit. The ideal candidate must have at least 2 years of inpatient acute care social work experience. This position involves coverage of high-acuity areas including the Emergency Department, ICU, Medical Surgical Unit, and Family Birth. The role includes discharge planning, protective services coordination, and psychosocial support for vulnerable populations. Responsibilities:Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized plans of careFacilitate discharge planning and care coordination with internal and external resourcesCollaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals for quality and cost-effective patient outcomesCoordinate with adult and child protective services, guardianship, and emergency detention when necessaryEducate patients and caregivers on available services, discharge processes, and safety plansUtilize Epic for thorough and timely documentation, discharge summaries, and patient education trackingManage high-risk interventions, including vulnerable populations and those with safety concernsFollow NASW Code of Ethics and compliance with applicable federal and state lawsFloat between like units (e.g., ICU, L&D, Medical Surgical, PCU) as needed Key Requirements:Minimum 2 years of inpatient acute care experience is required (Hard stop)Must be flexible to work rotating weekends per facility needsStrong background in case management, emergency department, or high-acuity inpatient environmentsExperience with Milliman or InterQual Criteria is a plusFirst-time travelers acceptedMust reside outside 50-mile local radiusMust be able to float to like units based on facility needNo on-call required QualificationsEducation:Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited programExperience:2 years minimum in acute inpatient hospital setting3 years preferred for screening priorityLicense:Active LMSW in the state of assignment (No pending license accepted)Certifications:BLS (Required)LMSW (Required) SkillsClinical & Professional Skills:Discharge planningCare coordination with home care, DME, SNF, hospice, etc.Knowledge of protective services protocols (APS, CPS)Emergency detention and guardianship processNASW Code of Ethics and ADA complianceDocumentation of care delivery, goals, outcomesPatient and family education, crisis interventionAssessment & Planning:Initial evaluations, biopsychosocial assessments, problem list developmentReview of patient history and vulnerability riskCoordination of quality care in a cost-effective mannerPlan of care aligned with coverage criteriaWork Settings Experience:Emergency DepartmentICU, PCU, L&D/Mother-BabyAcute Care Medical-Surgical Units Additional InformationBlock Schedules: Not availableCharting System: Epic (Required)Travel Experience: Not required (but must have strong acute inpatient experience)Float Requirement: Yes, within like unitsOn-Call: NoRTO Restrictions: Prefer under 7 days; all RTO must be submitted at time of applicationATD Technology, LLC is a certified minority woman owned business that creates opportunities to match qualified individuals with client programs while meeting all parties' financial and technical goals.
