SUMMARY OF ROLE
We are looking for a trauma-informed Resident in Counseling or
Social Work Supervisee to join our ResidentSea Program. This program will provide comprehensive training and support during the residency period prior to licensure. This position will have a mixture of scheduled client sessions and built in administrative time for individual and group clinical supervision, training, and documentation. This position is for someone who is interested in working with adults and/or children/adolescents and aligns with our practice culture of inclusivity and viewing mental health with a trauma-informed lens. Applicant must be LGBQTIA+ affirming.
This position is perfect for someone who has the ability to work up to 35 hours per week and has a passion for working with others and learning about trauma-informed care within a private practice setting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Perform on-site individual and group therapy services to clients of Sea Level Counseling and Wellness as scheduled, and in accordance with company policies.
- Comply with all aspects of ResidentSea Manual
- Be willing to utilize trauma-informed approaches as a primary therapeutic style.
- Be EMDR trained (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) or a willingness to be trained.
- Meet with clinical supervisor for weekly individual and group supervision
- Attend mandatory staff meetings and training as directed by Sea Level Counseling and Wellness Conduct and regulate counseling services in a professional manner so as to maintain and increase the goodwill and reputation of Sea Level Counseling and Wellness
- Respond to clients’ requests for service or calls within 24 hours whether such requests are made in person, by phone, voicemail, etc. or through the Sea Level Counseling and Wellness website. Respond to such requests by meeting, evaluating, and providing services to such clients.
- Complete written records for each patient including, but not limited to: intake notes, progress notes, treatment plans, termination notes, contact notes, and other forms or documents which may be needed or required from time-to-time by Sea Level Counseling and Wellness or third parties in conjunction with the treatment of the patient within a timely fashion in accordance to office policy.
- Regular and reliable attendance and timely arrival to work is required.
- Be properly licensed and abide by all laws, rules, regulations, and codes of ethics that are binding upon or applicable to the services performed for Sea Level Counseling and Wellness
- Communicate with a patient’s treatment team (i.e., PCP, psychiatrist, school, etc.) as necessary.
- Keep patient files accurate and up to date.
- Be respectful of and cooperative and collaborative with co-workers.
- Other duties may be assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Amenable to learning to provide high-quality, trauma-informed care.
- Knowledge of and comfortable with working with individuals from diverse background.
- Experience working with community mental health systems.
- Ally for LGBTQIA+ population.
- Able to document and navigate electronic health record independently.
- Ability to maintain strict client confidentiality.
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with individuals involved in all aspects of the program services children, parents, school faculty and staff, members of the community and SLCW team members.
- Serves as a representative of SLCW, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with SLCW team members, clients, school system staff and faculty regulators and members of the general public.
- Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of Google Workspace.
- Ability to work effectively on a multidisciplinary team.
- Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general and professional documents.
- Ability to write routine and correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations.
- Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to work productively and make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actions.
- Excellent critical thinking skills, including the ability to reach out for case coordination and/or case staffing should the need arise.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s Degree or Doctoral Degree in Counseling, Social Work, and/or Psychology
- Registration with respective board for clinical supervision
- At least 1-2 years providing direct client care to persons receiving treatment for mental health conditions. (private practice or outpatient preferred)
- Knowledge of trauma and its impact on the whole person
- Ability to work with both adult and youth/child populations.
- 1+ years preferred experience in community mental health settings

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $43,682.07 - $62,606.36 per year
