Established over 50 years ago, Project Reality partners with Salt Lake County and Utah State to deliver services that impact the underlying causes of chronic disease and improve community health outcomes. We are a fully integrated health clinic providing comprehensive substance use disorder, primary care, and mental health treatment for vulnerable populations not adequately served in traditional health care settings. Our health home model addresses critical health determinants through a team-based approach utilizing medical providers, therapists, case managers, and peer coaches. Scheduling:

  • Full-time Mon-Fri shifts 5:45 am - 2 pm
  • A weekend rotation once or twice per month for three hours

Position Responsibilities: Our Mental Health Counselors have scope to practice the evidence-based treatments they believe best for each patient! The position involves a wide spectrum of services/responsibilities including:

  • Excellent Attendance is a MUST
  • Conduct intakes and screenings for new clients
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions
  • Support treatment planning and goal setting with clients and therapists
  • Educate clients and families about substance use and treatment options
  • Maintain accurate and thorough client records
  • Treatment, goal and discharge planning
  • Coordinating with partnered agencies to assist patients in continued care
  • Attending staff meetings and individual/group supervision
  • Abiding by all HIPAA laws
  • Other duties as assigned by program supervisors

Qualifications

  • SUDC Certificate or License
  • 1+ years of experience in behavioral health or medical facilities
  • First Aid and CPR Certification (provided)
  • High level of professionalism and collaboration
  • Willingness to learn best practices of care
  • Interest in working with vulnerable populations
  • Basic Microsoft Office/Excel skills required. G-Suite a plus
  • If in recovery, must have at least 2+ years of continuous sobriety
  • Ability to pass/maintain a BCI Clearance Check
  • Vaccination with allowable accommodations as needed
  • Employees must be vaccinated against COVID-19 (including booster) and flu annually
