A school district in New Haven, CT is seeking a dedicated School Psychologist to support the mental health and educational success of elementary school students for the upcoming school year. This contract position offers the opportunity to work closely with educators, parents, and administrators to provide valuable psychological services in an elementary school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychoeducational assessments to identify student strengths and needs
  • Develop and implement intervention strategies and behavior plans
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to create supportive learning environments
  • Provide counseling and crisis intervention services to students as needed
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and Individualized Education Program (IEP) development
  • Monitor student progress and adjust services accordingly

Qualifications:

  • Masters or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or related field
  • Valid state certification or licensure as a School Psychologist
  • Experience conducting assessments and delivering psychological services in an elementary school setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with children, families, and educational teams
  • Familiarity with special education laws and regulations preferred

Location: New Haven, Connecticut Elementary School
Duration: Contract position for the next school year (NSY)
