POSITION:

Elementary Guidance Counselor
2025/2026 School Year

QUALIFICATIONS:

Hold appropriate Certification/Licensure.
FBI & BCI Background Checks

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain appropriate counseling records and other documentation as required on students, including but not limited to documentation of student meetings, agency referrals, special education, and phone calls.
Coordinate and implement individual, small group and classroom counseling activities.
Support the building Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) Team.
Implement and coordinate effective prevention and intervention strategies for students, families and staff.
Establish and maintain awareness of district instructional goals and curriculum. Collaborate with building staff to promote academic success for all students.
Assist the building administrators with staff development programs designed to encourage the school staff to establish more effective ways of addressing individual needs and the enhancement of the school climate.
Foster and support students’ transition from elementary to middle school.
Serve as a resource on counseling and problem solving for other staff members.
Assist in scheduling of students’ classrooms on a yearly basis.
Perform all other duties as may be assigned by the Building Principal, or the Superintendent.

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED:

Special Education teaching experience at the primary level.
Prior school guidance counseling experience.
Experience implementing and/or supporting Response to Intervention (RtI) / Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS)

SALARY:

As per negotiated agreement.
