Job Title: Peer Support Specialist

Job Description:
As a Peer Support Specialist, you will help foster positive change by:

  • Serving as an advocate, mentor, and resource for clients.
  • Providing advice, guidance, and connecting individuals to relevant resources.
  • Building supportive relationships within the community.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage your own caseload with support from supervisory staff.
  • Provide services to clients and track their progress.
  • Ensure client needs are met through consistent communication and support.

Key Competencies for Peer Specialists:

  • Schedule regular meetings and activities based on participants' needs.
  • Establish rapport and supportive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Collaborate with care coordinators to support participants in reaching their goals.
  • Offer guidance on recovery-oriented resources and provide feedback.
  • Attend recovery-related and social events with participants.
  • Connect participants with supportive networks and community resources.
  • Share insights with the care team regarding participant progress and needs.
  • Serve as a positive role model for participants.
  • Respond to crisis situations appropriately when needed.
  • Seek supervision and guidance from professional staff as required.

Compensation:

  • Commission-based pay, dependent on the clients you work with.
  • Part-time hours with the potential to transition to full-time as your caseload grows.

Requirements:

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in documentation and record-keeping.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, reliability, and effective time management.
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to ethical conduct, integrity, and professional standards in all work-related activities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Peer Support Specialist in North Dakota or Minnesota.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: Up to $26.00 per hour

Work Location: On the road
