Summary
The Child Center of NY is seeking a compassionate and experienced Bilingual Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Spanish/English) to join our multidisciplinary behavioral health team. This role involves providing comprehensive psychiatric services to children, adolescents, adults, and families in our outpatient clinics. The ideal candidate is passionate about improving community mental health outcomes and can connect with Spanish-speaking clients in a culturally responsive manner.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to walk, sit for long period of time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or control; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Essential Functions:
- Identifies, evaluates, and addresses psychiatric and/or substance abuse behavioral health issues
- Conducts medical assessment reviews of all enrolled clients; coordinating and referring for specialized care when indicated
- Provides psychoeducation to clients and/or families about preventive care, substance abuse, psychiatric or medical issues, and use of prescribed medications with their possible side effects
- Documents all psychiatric and/or substance abuse evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatment, outcomes, education & referrals consistent with state and city regulatory standards
- Directs psychiatric appointments with corresponding documentation in the EMR
- Signs treatment plans in a timely manner
- Resolves off-shift issues with pharmacies or communications with outside facilities when needed (e.g. emergency room collateral, potential referrals, etc.)
- Attends meetings, including risk conferences, medical and program staff meetings, team meetings
- Provides coverage for other psychiatric providers as part of larger team
- Supports in onboarding and training of psychiatric staff
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care and clinical best practices
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Graduate of an accredited Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Program.
- Graduate of an accredited Master’s Degree Program as a Nurse
- Practitioner with current New York State licensure
- Extensive training and/or experience in mental health and substance abuse treatment
- Knowledge of insurance/managed care process.
- Expertise in working with children, adolescents, and adults
- Maintain established departmental policies and procedures including maintain strict confidentiality and adherence to all HIPAA guidelines at all times.
