Master’s degree in School Counseling, Counseling or a related field, active School Counselor license and 1+ years School Counselor experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A school counselor opportunity is available in Lake George, Colorado, serving students from PreK through 12th grade. This position offers the flexibility of full-time or part-time schedules, accommodating diverse work preferences while addressing the varied counseling needs of a K-12 student population.
Position Details:
- Full-time: 36 hours per week, Monday through Friday
- Part-time: 16-20 hours per week, typically 2 days per week
- Caseload includes PreK-12 students, with specialized support provided to four students on IEPs that require dedicated counseling minutes; additional student engagements are conducted as needs arise
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the social, emotional, and academic development of students across all grade levels
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop strategies that promote student success
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions tailored to student concerns and developmental stages
- Implement and monitor IEP counseling goals for students with special education needs
- Facilitate crisis intervention and conflict resolution when necessary
- Promote a positive school climate that fosters student well-being and inclusivity
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant certification or licensure in school counseling
- Experience working with a broad K-12 student population
- Ability to manage caseloads effectively, including students with special education plans
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to student advocacy and support
