Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.


A rewarding opportunity is available for a skilled Social Worker to support students in a K-12 school setting in Waukegan, IL. This leave contract position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on the well-being and development of students during a temporary assignment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify student social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized intervention plans to support students academic and personal growth.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to provide a coordinated approach to student support.
  • Facilitate counseling sessions and group work to address issues such as bullying, family challenges, and behavioral concerns.
  • Connect students and families to community resources and services to enhance support systems.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with school policies and regulatory requirements.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
  • Valid social work licensure or certification required by the state of Illinois.
  • Experience working in school settings with K-12 populations.
  • Strong knowledge of child development, mental health, and crisis intervention techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with diverse students and families.
  • Ability to manage caseloads and work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
