Overview
We are seeking a friendly, detail-oriented, and professional Patient Care Coordinator to join our optometry practice. As the first point of contact for our patients, this individual plays a key role in creating a welcoming and organized environment, while ensuring smooth front desk operations. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong customer service mindset, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and ensure a positive and professional front office experience.
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage the appointment calendar efficiently.
- Verify insurance benefits and collect patient information before appointments.
- Check patients in and out, collect co-pays, and provide necessary forms and documentation.
- Communicate with patients regarding upcoming appointments, referrals, and follow-up care.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and HIPAA-compliant front desk and waiting area.
- Manage electronic health records and assist with data entry and documentation.
- Coordinate with optometrists, opticians, and technicians to ensure seamless patient flow.
- Handle patient concerns or questions with professionalism and escalate when appropriate.
Experience
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred; optometry office a plus .
- Familiarity with administrative support functions is essential.
- Strong office experience demonstrating proficiency in managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff alike.
- A commitment to providing exceptional patient care while maintaining professionalism at all times.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
