Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and trauma-informed Certified Behavior Technician (CBT) or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to provide direct support to a student in a public school setting during the school year. The ideal candidate will also work with clients in the clinic setting and community setting during our summer program (now through Aug 22, 2025.) The ideal candidate is a person-first practitioner who brings empathy, patience, and strong communication skills to a multidisciplinary team environment. This position requires comfort and confidence working with students who may have experienced complex trauma and engage in high-intensity behaviors, including aggression, property destruction, and elopement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 behavior support to an assigned student throughout the school day
  • Implement individualized behavior support strategies and skill acquisition programs under the guidance of a supervising BCBA
  • Maintain a supportive, empathetic, and student-centered approach that upholds the dignity and autonomy of the learner
  • Collaborate with school staff, special educators, mental health providers, and related service professionals
  • Accurately collect behavioral data and perform all administrative tasks in a timely manner
  • Assist with the implementation of proactive and responsive de-escalation strategies as needed
  • Support safe transitions, classroom participation, and access to inclusive learning environments
  • During our summer program (now through Aug 22, 2025,) work with clients in the clinic setting and community setting

Schedule, Start Date and Compensation Details:

  • 7:30AM to 3:30PM Mon-Fri approx schedule during the school year (starting Aug 25, 2025.) For now through Aug 22, 2025, work schedule will be Mon-Thurs 8AM to 3:15PM.
  • Summer Program (now through Aug 22) will be in Bellevue and school-year services will be in Seattle.
  • Multiple positions available in Seattle –options available North of Downtown Seattle and we have some South of Downtown available too, during school year
  • Must be available to start no later than Aug 25 2025, however our preference would be someone who can start ASAP this summer AND stay on through the school year.
  • $38-$45/hour for assignments working with physically intensive clients
  • $28 -$35/hour for non-physically intensive client assignments
  • BENEFITS INCLUDE: 401(k), 401(k) matching of up to 10% contributions, Health insurance, Dental insurance, Life insurance, Vision insurance, and Paid Time Off
  • Expected to work full time, approx 36 hours per week during school year

Qualifications

  • CBT or RBT credential required (must have active CBT or RBT)
  • Experience supporting students with emotional, behavioral, or developmental differences
  • Trauma-informed and person-first approach to behavior intervention
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to maintain composure and professionalism during behavioral escalations
  • Comfortable working with students who may exhibit physical aggression, elopement, and other barrier behaviors
  • Prior training in crisis prevention (CPI, Safety-Care, Right Response) preferred; willingness to complete training before the fall school year is required
  • Personal transportation preferred but not required

  • Weekly supervision provided by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
  • Ongoing support from school team, case manager, and related service providers
