The adult education counselor has the opportunity to make a lasting, positive impact on the lives of youth and adult learners. They are the first person each student meets when seeking services. The counselor interviews, tests and places students in an appropriate learning plan for their unique circumstances, utilizing all modes and resources available. They support students in resolving obstacles and barriers to successful advancement in their education and make referrals to support services when necessary.

This person monitors the progress of students and assists teachers in meeting their educational needs. They advise students on postsecondary goals and transition to training, further education and employment. This position is based in the DALC Rochester location and requires evening availability.
