Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Resident in Counseling to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality therapeutic services to individuals, particularly marriage and family therapy, addressing a range of mental health issues. This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based interventions in both individual and group settings. The counselor will work collaboratively with clients to promote emotional well-being and facilitate positive change.

Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive diagnostic evaluations to assess client needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions focusing on various issues including PTSD care, and behavior management.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation and data collection for all client interactions in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Offer direct support to clients and their families, fostering a supportive environment conducive to healing.
  • Implement effective strategies for child family counseling, ensuring the involvement of family members in the therapeutic process.
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and share insights on client progress.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in mental health counseling.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Valid state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or equivalent certification.
  • Experience working with children and families in a therapeutic setting is preferred.
  • Strong skills in medical documentation, data collection, and diagnostic evaluation.
  • Knowledge of group therapy techniques and addiction counseling approaches.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate care while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
