Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Peer Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in providing support to individuals facing mental health and addiction challenges. The Certified Peer Specialist will leverage their lived experiences and training to foster hope, promote recovery, and assist clients in navigating their personal journeys toward wellness. This position requires a strong commitment to empowering others through shared experiences and understanding.
Duties
- Provide one-on-one support to clients, utilizing personal recovery experiences to guide and inspire.
- Facilitate group sessions that encourage open discussion about mental health and recovery strategies.
- Assist clients in developing coping skills and strategies for crisis intervention and management.
- Collaborate with behavioral health professionals to create individualized recovery plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions using EHR systems.
- Offer mentoring and support in life skills, including social work techniques and motivational interviewing.
- Advocate for clients' needs within the healthcare system, ensuring they have access to necessary resources.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Skills
- Strong background in crisis intervention and crisis management techniques.
- Knowledge of behavioral health principles and practices.
- Experience in mental health counseling or addiction counseling preferred.
- Proficient in mentoring individuals facing challenges related to mental health or addiction.
- Familiarity with motivational interviewing techniques to encourage client engagement.
- Ability to navigate EHR systems for documentation and reporting purposes.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a compassionate approach to client interactions.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 32 per week
